Ocean's Fury

This piece was so much fun to do! It is my first piece ever entered into an art contest. While I didn't win, I was so giddy to find out that I had made it into the top 20!

The subject parameters allowed for any fantasy creatures like fairies, vampires, etc, but I went with the dragon because I had never drawn one before and wanted to try my hand at it. I didn't want to go the traditional route of the big winged, earthy, fire breathing dragon, but something different. I've also been wanting to try my had at deep sea water so I decided on a bioluminescent dragon, taking inspiration from cuttlefish and anglerfish from the deep sea. I decided on the color purple because why not? When you're in the deep sea, who would know. I am very please with the way that this turned out and hope that this will inspire others in the future.
